The Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel Attorney Payment System enables
the judiciary to collect and analyze data on payments made to panel
attorneys, experts, and other service providers under the CJA and
related statutes. The system captures data entered by court personnel
about CJA panel attorney appointments, requests for authorization to
obtain the services of other service providers, and the (voucher)
amounts claimed and approved for payment.
- District- and circuit-level information about appointments in their
respective jurisdictions is directly accessible to court personnel.
Contact the Office of Defender Services, Information Technology
Division, 202-502-3030, for assistance in entering information into the
CJA payment system, or in accessing payment data and compiling reports.
- Various national reports are compiled by the Office of Defender
Services (ODS), Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), for use
at the national level (e.g., for developing program budget requests and
in support of reports provided to Congress about Defender Services
program activities). Contact Office of Defender Services, Information
Technology Division, 202-502-3030 for assistance in accessing available
national reports.
