The 2255 Project provides consultation and assistance to courts adjudicating, and defense counsel litigating, capital cases pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2255 by:

• facilitating courts' appointment of qualified counsel in § 2255 cases
• helping ensure that the representation furnished is consistent with the best practices of the legal profession
• advising and training appointed counsel
